As an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney, you will be integral to our practice, focusing on risk transfer and coverage matters. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in insurance coverage, construction defense, and construction defect/property damage. Court and deposition experience are essential, and we will also consider candidates with broader insurance coverage experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret insurance policies and draft coverage opinions.
- Litigate coverage matters, including motions for summary judgment and appeals on coverage-related issues.
- Manage declaratory judgment actions effectively.
- Conduct legal research and writing, ensuring clear and concise communication.
- Demonstrate strong professional judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Work proactively and collaboratively within the team, while also being able to manage tasks independently.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- JD degree with excellent academic credentials.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant insurance coverage experience but will consider 1 year and above.
- Admitted and in good standing in Texas; admission to any other bar is a plus.
- Experience in risk transfer and construction insurance coverage is preferred.
- Proven track record of depositions and courtroom experience.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills, along with strong verbal communication abilities.
- Proactive, resourceful, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
